Arsenal are reportedly ready to let captain Cesc Fabregas join Barcelona this summer in a £35million deal

Barca have spent the last two years trying to lure the 23-year-old back to Camp Nou from the Emirates and reports last month had suggested Arsenal would be willing to sell their captain providing their £45million valuation was met.

Those reports led to Barca president Sandro Rosell insisting the Spanish champions would not increase their bid after failing to land Fabregas last season when their £30m bid was rejected by the Gunners.

But a move to Barcelona is still believed to be on the cards providing the money is there and according to The Sun, the Gunners will "reluctantly" sell Fabregas this summer for £35m.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger last summer persuaded Fabregas to remain at the north London club but after another trophyless season, the Frenchman is not expected to try and keep the Spain international at the club for another twelve months should he wish to leave.

Fabregas is believed to be unhappy with a lack of silverware at the Emirates and an Arsenal insider was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "There is a feeling Cesc has gone as far as he can with Arsenal.

"He has been with us eight years and believes he has shown great loyalty.

"The team will finish the season empty-handed again and he fears that situation will not change."

Wenger could also face a battle to keep Samir Nasri at the club, with the winger yet to put pen-to-paper on a new contract and the likes of Real Madrid and Inter Milan believed to be keen on signing him.
